On-Premise Illinois BASSET Alcohol Online Training Course

If you work or wish to work as a bartender, bar back, server, or manager of an establishment such as a bar or restaurant, this training course can help you on your way. It's four hours long, but is completely online and compatible with any device that connects to the internet, such as a computer, tablet, or mobile device. The program saves your place automatically, so you can log on and off as much as you want, meaning you can take it on your time, at your pace, and wherever you're most comfortable. We also give you unlimited attempts to pass and provide 24/7 customer support, so you can take it stress free.

The on-premise BASSET training course was designed by the state of Illinois to reduce the risk of overconsumption and create safer communities where alcohol is served. Among the material covered are the following topics:

  • Alcohol and Its Properties
  • Preventing Intoxication and Assuring Customer Safety
  • Drink Counting, the Designated Driver Program, and BAC Drink Charts
  • Laws About Minors and Alcohol
  • Practicing the Refusing of Sale/Service to a Minor
  • DUI Penalties
  • When to Ask for an ID
  • Dram Shop Laws

As required by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, there is both a pre-exam and a post-exam, both multiple choice. The pre-exam is taken before you begin the course and is designed merely to see your knowledge level at the start. The post-exam is taken at the end of the course and consists of 20 multiple choice questions. You must answer at least 70% correctly, but you have an unlimited number of attempts to pass.

Additionally, there are quizzes at the end of each of the five lessons to help you prepare for the final exam. You must get at least 70% to pass each quiz, but you have unlimited attempts to pass these as well.

Once you successfully complete the course, you can download a 30-day temporary certificate of completion to prove you finished your training. We will submit your information to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, and you can download and print your permanent card at https://mytax.illinois.gov/?Link=Basset before the temporary card expires.
